PUBG Mobile plans to return to India with a new game and $100 million investment

Another day in the gaming world, Good news for our mobile gamers in India, PUBG Mobile plans to return to India with a new game after being banned last September even when the game had some 50 million users. 

The reason for the ban was that its app links to China’s Tencent and the government’s concerns about the game’s being a bad influence on teenagers of India. The new game is called “PUBG Mobile India” even that name suggests, it’s specifically being made for the Indian market.

According to PUBG Corporation, the new version includes local customizations such as characters starting the game fully clothed, green liquid replacing blood. The South Korean developer said it provides maximum data security and healthy gameplay for its users. Earlier this month, PUBG Corporation’s parent company Krafton recently joined up with Microsoft to store user data on Azure Cloud.

The company is to make investments worth $100 million in Indian “gaming, esports, entertainment, and IT industries.” and this could be the largest investment in India by a company based in Korea. Some part of this investment will be dedicated to esports events and tournaments in the Indian gaming community.

Video game analyst Daniel Ahmad mentioned in a tweet all changes made in the Chinese version of the game developed by Tencent.

However, there is no timeline for the official release date of PUBG Mobile India, which we hope to hear soon.
